Based on the legend of Tom Thumb, A Bit of A Knight tells the story of a young boy who dreams of becoming a knight. Using puppetry, storytelling, and live foley, we follow Tom as he gathers the courage to leave his mother’s cottage and journey towards the King’s court. Along the way, he helps birds, talking rocks, forest spirits, and many more – coming to realise that small acts are often what make the biggest differences.

Making More Waves – November 2024
We have previously developed and showcased a 15 minute extract of the show as a micro-commission, supported by Applause, Looping the Loop, and ARK Cliftonville.
The extract covers the first section of the story, where Tom dreams about being a knight, sees a fallen bird’s nest, and ventures outside of his garden for the first time to help them.
